My charger broke off in my charger port of my phone. Naturally, I didn't realize this until I had to charge it.
The poor fellow. I let him live out the rest of his hours of battery peacefully, he took advantage of the last moments until he finally let go and turned off one last time.
In happier news. I got a new phone! |

Yesterday was a day full of injuries.
A dog at work freaked out on me and because I was trying to win I didn't let go. My wrists and hands are fairly black and blue from the battle.
Also, I didn't win.
I reopened a small wound by hitting it against something at work as well.
Then, but this is by far my favorite, I finally finally got my ear project finished. Yes, a fantastic new piercing under my industrial. I will post photos when it's not all bruised, swollen, and bloody.
It took two hours. A lesser man would have moaned, but my piercer was quite amazed at my awesome resistance to the pain he subjected me to, especially for a certain area that was quite the bitch. |

I scratched my lovely black contact ball.
That's what I get for losing control and it flying into a piece of metal. |

| [ | mood |
| | tired | ] | Yesterday I went bumming around Maple Grove with AnG.
She wrote the best entry ever about it, unfortunately it does no good to link it to you because her journal is friend-locked. You lose.
Our journey started because Angie decided to totally up and move to South Dakota one day. Okay, she didn't move, but going for less than a week and staying for nearly a month is close enough to moving.
Carefully, or perilously, she drove us to Maple Grove as we talked about the not so serious, and the updates, because I am very bad at staying in 'the loop'. Very very bad. The first visit was REI. Angela fell in love with the 'ice cream' sleeping bag. I bought a collapsible water dish for my dog. We marveled over the metal water bottles, even though we both have one already. And then we left and went to Hot Topic, where the clerk asked us like EVERY minute if we needed help. Do we need help? The store is like 20' by 15', do you really think we need help when we said no the fifth time? We didn't stay there long.
Claire's was next. We made our way along the store walls, keeping to the right. I almost bought some kinda cool headbands, but since they were only kinda cool I didn't know if I should. Someone was getting their ears pierced. We moved to the back wall which is full of the little kid stuff. Someone else was getting their ears pierced. AnG said something about friendship necklaces. It alluded to them not being made anymore, and I said they were. Then we came upon it. The section of friendship jewelry.
We laughed, and pointed, and picked out the really horrendous ones. But as Angela wrote, "Our delve into the world of BFF trinkets started as mere curiosity and concluded with a very serious decision..."
A little girl started crying, she was getting her ears pierced. The decision of a friendship necklace is a very important one. There are certain qualities that have to be had. Like, is it interactive? What kind of friendship necklace is it that says "best friends forever" on EACH one. There is no need for the other person with that. They need to be split, you need to have that other half somewhere, waiting, friend.
Angela was smitten with the heart and key pendants, where the key locked into the heart. I said it was too sexual and would not wear it. There were magnetic ones, but god were they ugly. Our favorites were down to some awesome foodstuffs wearing bows (like wtf, they didn't even have faces) and music notes. After deciding on the music notes (and another victim being pierced) we came across the clearance section.. which had it... rainbow shooting stars. We were sold.
Fifty feet out of the store we put them on. Angela's broke. After returning to the store to get a replacement to our fantastic, but oh so cheap, jewelry, we couldn't stop laughing. The manager was super serious to our predicament. **sadly to say, my chain broke today before I drove to MAARS, so our friendship is over until I fix it**
Next was the bookstore, always a good time, then the petstore, where I bought a betta. He's speckled and ugly, but I love him. His name is Franklin Hooper Freckle. I snuck him into the chinese restaurant. We had some wicked chinese food, I tried something new. It was good but I probably won't ever get it again.
Then we sang with Amanda Palmer at the top of our lungs the rest of the way home.
We are the coolest, and no one can tell us otherwise, because the music's too loud. |

Me: oh no! Mom: Do I want to know? Me: I broke my favorite mug! Mom: ... Me: The Dogpatch USA one! Mom: You mean now I have to go back there and get another one? I didn't even like it the first time! |

I have also turned into one of the most boring people in the area recently. Like seriously, do something!
I play my piano by myself, yo. Don't touch me! |

| | bored | ] | Today I heard someone say "Doncha know".
Being from Minnesota, you'd think I'd hear this more often. I probably have, but as I become more and more aware of the accents around me and speech patterns, I have started picking up the lovely Minnesota phrases that happen by.
I don't have much of a Minnesotan accent. And I'm not just saying that because I'm in denial, I've had a few non-Minnesotans say such. (except for those crazy Canadian friends.) I don't really say "Doncha know", and I really don't say "You betcha". I find it amusing to pick things up. I do say 'hotdish'. But not the same way as in Fargo. It's not two words my friends. Hotdish, not Hot Dish.
Besides, Fargo is North Dakota, not Minnesota... doncha know. |

Snickers got to go to Petco today. We used, for the first time, the self-service bath tub. It went alright. Standing in a big silver rectangle kind of bothered her, and she didn't really like the blow dryer. But yay, clean dog!
Then, of course, after being tortured, we had to go let her pick out a treat. So, after getting over her nerves, we walked down the treat aisle and OH BOY! Her nose was everywhere. I gave her time to pick what she wanted and finally she pulled out this rawhide hamburger treat. I sighed and said, "Of course you would pick that," as I put it back since it was dyed all sorts of crazy colors and had sugar in it and what not. Certainly not. But then she found an even better treat! So out we walked, as she carried her bully stick to the register, we paid for it, and she was a happy dog again. |

I want to buy someone a chia pet for christmas.
At work today one of the cats had a lump on her back. I flipped back the fur to see what was going on and as I did so the scab came off and all this pus started pouring out. Yum. |

I'm going to have a Yule Ball. It may or may not be awesome. I'm hoping it won't follow in the foot steps of the fancy Tea Party of 2005.
I also want to have a hang out and jam party, which would be a sort of 'open mic' event at my house with beer. Trouble is I don't know too many people who would be open to performance. tsk tsk. |

| | giddy | ] | I've been very absent from here, but I thought I'd spare a minute to share...
I bought a piano today! I mean, I already have a piano, two if you count my toy piano, but this is a lovely stage that will be my companion when I move, since I will not be moving my upright with me to an apartment. (And sadly to say that when I do move my parents will probably get rid of the spinet, even though I'd love to keep it forever)
And so this barely used digital joins my growing family of instruments, but unfortunately has to sit in my brother's room at the moment since I need to do some major reorganizing of my own room to make space.
Embrace the piano love!!!

I forgot how much I liked '10 Things I Hate About You'.
I also like sparkling water, and books, and movies, and character makeup, and my own fictional characters, and watching boys, and watching girls, and graphic novels, and writing, and challenges, and cats, and dogs, and brushes, and chairs, and fantasies, and scheming, and trying to scare people, and working with my hands, and thinking to pass the time, and the rain, and the cold, and words, and books again.
What do you like? |
